Statement

PLUG FAIR / Through a glass, darkly. immerses its audience in a distorted walking tour. Equipped with wireless headphones, participants are enveloped in abstract sounds, music, and a fragmented fictional narrative. Led by a deadpan guide with a laptop taped to their head, the journey winds through urban spaces—dim car parks, sprawling housing estates, and echoing subway stations.

A second performer, streamed live onto the guide's laptop, accompanies the audience. This spectral presence responds in real-time, visually interpreting the soundtrack from a hidden indoor location.

Blending performance, guided walk, and theatrical play, PLUG FAIR constructs an intangible realm within the physical world. Inspired by augmented reality and the experience of walking immersed in music, it delivers a layered, oversaturated, and immersive sensory experience.

'an intense, slightly worrying and very beautiful experience' - Margot Edström, IAC
